Goodwill to host facility tours, inside look at the life cycle of donations

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Friday, Oct. 4 Goodwill will give a behind the scenes look at its facilities and how the life cycle of your donations impact Lubbock.

The tour will start in the Goodwill showroom where many donations are displayed for purchase. Staff will give an inside look at how inventory is processed and what happens to those items that don't sell.

Goodwill's mission is to create job opportunities for people with barriers to employment. CEO Robin Raney hopes these tours will give buyers a different perspective when they walk in a store.

"What may not be perfect in one person's eyes is a treasure to someone else in the community. It's really a joy to be able to sell a couch for ten dollars in this store and a chair for three to five dollars and know that someone who really needs it can find an affordable option," she said.

There'll be two tours open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
