TABC focuses on delivery, convenience in talks with West Texas businesses

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The state anticipates the alcohol industry to keep growing in our area.

More than 54,000 licensed businesses contribute billions each year state-wide. TABC hosted roundtable discussions for members to weigh in on its performance. Part of it's discussion also includes changes made during the last legislative session, particularly consumer delivery.

"And it's convenience right? Everything now is about convenience to the consumer. And if you're in the industry and you're not providing that convenience pretty soon, you're not going to be on the cutting edge," TABC Executive Director Bentley Nettles said. "One of the things that we like to see is Texas to be in the lead on the cutting edge of all industry, but definitely the alcohol/beverage industry. We want to match what other states are doing so that we continue to grow in this state."

Nettles says these discussions serve as a forum for agency leaders, industry members and lawmakers to express their ideas going forward.
