LITTLEFIELD, Texas -
Littlefield police arrested a man Sunday evening after a pursuit that ended in Shallowater.
Officers attempted to stop Francisco Martinez, 37, on an outstanding warrant for violating his parole. Police report Martinez failed to yield and headed south on Hall Ave. The chase continued on Hwy 84 reaching nearly 100 mph, according to police.
In Shallowater a DPS Trooper deployed a spike strip just east of FM179. Police report Martinez ran over the strip and eventually slowed to a stop. A felony stop was conducted and Martinez was taken into custody.
Martinez was transported back to Littlefield and booked into the Lamb County Jail. He's charged with evading arrest by motor vehicle and blue warrant parole violation.
Department of Public Safety units, the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Game Warden's Office assisted Littlefield police in the pursuit.
