NORMAN, OK -

Texas Tech entered Norman as the underdog. With starting quarterback, Alan Bowman, out with a shoulder injury, Matt Wells would lean on two back ups to get the job done.

Jackson Tyner got the start for Texas Tech. The grad transfer from Rice was under center for the first couple of series, but didn't get anything going on offense. Only one completion on five attempts for two yards.

Fans knew Jett Duffey was an impressive athlete. He started last year when Bowman went down with an injury. Duffey got a chance after Tyner failed to create opportunities. He was 11-20 for 120 yards.

Tech's receivers didn't see much action against OU. The Red Raiders' ground game put up 192 yards.

Jalen Hurts was a known threat going in to the game. The Alabama transfer threw for more than 400 yards.. used his athleticism to get 70 yards on the ground.

Hurts threw for 3 touchdowns and rushed for one more. The combination of OU receivers, CeeDee Lamb and Rambo combined for more than 300 yards.

Texas Tech's offense struggled yet again, they were 1-14 on third down. Armand Shyne had the sole touchdown on a 13 yard run. Kicker, Trey Wolff nailed three field goal attempts.

The Red Raiders will return to the Jones for another 11 A.M. kick against Oklahoma State, Saturday, October 5th.
