Hot again Friday, rain chance going up this weekend

Posted: Updated:

THIS AFTERNOON: It's another hot day in the 90s. There have been a few real small showers and storms pop up this afternoon. Most of our area has stayed sunny and dry.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low near 66.

TOMORROW: Warm again, with a lot of sunshine in the afternoon. High near 92, wind SW/S 5-15mph.

There is a slight chance for a shower or storm during tomorrow evening's football games. The chance goes higher after 10 p.m. through early Saturday morning. Heavy rain will be possible.

WEEKEND: Chance for some more showers and storms Saturday. Mostly cloudy, high near 86.

The chance will go higher for rain and storms starting Sunday. It's also going to be breezy. With clouds and rain in the area, it'll turn a little bit cooler starting Sunday.

The overall pattern doesn't change much, which means we have a decent chance for showers and storms each day next week. There are some signs a front could knock the temperature down a bit cooler late next week, but it's too far out for anything certain.

Like we saw earlier this week, when there is ample humidity available, it can flood in a few minutes. We will have lots of available moisture over the next week.

TEXAS TECH FORECAST: About a 30% chance for a shower or storm during the game. Kickoff near 77, climbing into the mid 80s. Mostly cloudy. Wind out of the S 15-20mph.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast posted here early tomorrow.
