Cultivating our newly attained status of a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), we propose a working group to integrate “Chicana/x Latina/x feminist thought & theory in the new millennium” within our curriculum, practice, and institutional climate. Chicana feminism, also called Xicanisma is a social political movement in the United States that analyzes the historical, cultural, spiritual, educational and economic intersections of Mexican American women who identify as Chicana. Chicana feminism has become a transcultural influence throughout the world. Contact Esther Medina De Leo´n for more information.
