THIS AFTERNOON: A few showers and storms have developed over the western South Plains. These are slowly spreading to the east. They could produce gusts to 40mph, along with brief heavy rain and lightning. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:
TONIGHT: Storms will diminish by about 10 or Midnight, partly cloudy with the low in the mid 60s.
TOMORROW: Not as hot with a better chance for rain. It looks like storms will develop between 2 and 4 p.m. A few of these could be strong, with gusty wind and small hail. More than anything, it's a better rain chance with the possibility for some heavy downpours.
NEXT FEW DAYS: The pattern doesn't change much, with an upper-level trough swinging across the NW United States. This continued southwest flow aloft will keep the humidity in place and will provide lift for showers and storms. It probably won't rain at each location in our area each day, but through Saturday you have a decent chance to get rain. This could affect high school games tomorrow night and Friday night.
The storm chance will bump back up slightly on Tuesday.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
