Parks employees, paramedics rescue toddler from Levelland lake

Posted: Updated:
LEVELLAND, Texas -

Parks employees and first responders rescued a toddler who was face-down in Lobo Lake in Levelland Wednesday afternoon.

Police Chief Albert Garcia tells us three children and their guardian were playing at a nearby park, when the two-year-old wandered off. The guardian discovered the child in the lake and began screaming.

The Levelland Parks Director and a parks employee were working nearby. They answered the call for help and jumped into the lake to rescue the child.

EMS also responded. Paramedics were able to revive the child and take the toddler to the hospital. The little one is expected to make a full recovery.
