Hot next few days, rain chance returns later this week

THIS AFTERNOON: It's a warm day with some clouds. But overall, things are pretty quiet here and for most of the state. Southeast Texas is the exception, with a disturbance in the Gulf bringing some rain down there.

Things are looking better for us to get some rain late this week, when looking out west. There is upper-level troughing, which should move east and help provide support for some rain here.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 66. Wind SE 5-10mph.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy, high 91. Wind S/SE 5-15mph. An isolated storm is possible west of Lubbock.

LOOKING AHEAD: The rain chance improves a tiny bit by late Wednesday. At this point Friday into Saturday bring the better chance for rain, although it isn't a great chance at this point. Even with more humidity and the potential for rain, it isn't going to cool off all that much. We're still looking at mid to upper 80s late this week into the weekend.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
