Isolates storms this evening, more rain Thursday & Friday

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Some isolated storms have developed across parts of the area. These are moving northeasterly around 20mph and bringing a few locations some heavy rainfall and lightning.

Current Radar:
South Plains Radar

OVERNIGHT: This activity should keep up through the evening then likely diminishing by midnight. The clouds will stick around with the moisture to keep lows in the 60s and low 70s.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY: Our best chance for area wide rainfall with a weak front slowly pushing through the area. We should see storms developing north during the afternoon hours tomorrow, then activity will spread south. We have good moisture in place for some heavy rainfall and potential flooding for some areas. Temperatures will drop some with the rain and cloud cover with highs in the 80s both days, cooler Friday.

ALL GOOD THINGS END: Well this front pushes out of the area and the ridge of higher pressure across the southeastern U.S. build back into the region. This will dry things out with less cloud cover allowing highs to climb to the upper 80s and 90s next week.

Have a great rest of your evening! Robert will have the next updated forecast to start the morning on Good Day Lubbock 5a-9a.
