WELCOME RAIN: Thankfully, we're not done with the rain. Much of our area received some steady rain last night and again this morning. Around Lubbock many of the totals ranged from 1/4" to 1/2". Southwest of the city there are some reports above an inch.
This afternoon some showers and storms have popped up to the east/southeast of Lubbock, as well as some farther west in New Mexico. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:
We expect some more showers and storms in the area into tonight.
TONIGHT: Low near 67, cloudy, chance for a shower or storm. Wind SE 10-15mph.
TOMORROW: High near 82, mostly cloudy. Decent chance you'll get a shower or storm. Wind S/SE 10-18mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: The overall pattern doesn't change all that much, with an upper-level trough over the western United States. This is a pattern that keeps humidity in our area and provides opportunities for rain. It probably won't rain each day everywhere across our area. But it looks like another day with at least some showers and storms in the area Wednesday, with a lower chance for rain Thursday and Friday.
With ample humidity, some heavy rain is possible. Another 1/2" to 1" of rain will be possible, with some isolated locations picking up more.
WEEKEND: It looks drier and warmer by the weekend, with the warm pattern continuing into early next week.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast posted here early tomorrow.
