SPC announces digital photography classes

South Plains College recently released the fall 2019 Digital Photography schedule. The classes are designed to improve the skill set of any digital photo aficionados.

Classes are conducted on Saturdays and cost $65 per person. At least eight students are required to fill a class, unless stated otherwise. Classes will meet in Room 201 of the Technical Education building.

Participants are not required to enroll in all of the individual classes. The only required course is the Digital Jumpstart before attending the intermediate and advance photography classes.

Digital JumpStart is the first in a series of classes on digital photography. It is designed to expose enthusiasts to camera options and capabilities. The Digital Jump Start class is a prerequisite required class before enrolling in any of the other courses. The class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, Sept. 28 and Nov. 9. On Oct. 5. The class will meet from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Fall Fandango is an outdoor photography class. The class will be held at an offsite location. Students are required to provide their own meals and transportation to the location. Students also must obtain approval before enrolling in this class.

The Macro Photography Class is set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 26. The class is an introduction to up-close photographical images such as flowers and insects.

Indoor Sports Shooting Workshop is an introduction to live action sports photography. The class will meet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 16.

The Basic Off-Camera Flash Lighting class focuses on the use of flash lighting. The class will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 14.
