A nice change yesterday evening with a good coverage of showers and storms. A few lingering showers continued this morning too. Here are some of the rain totals from midnight to 8:30 from the Tech Mesonet:
Near Tech 0.24"
New Home 0.08"
TODAY: A upper level disturbance will lift for the surge of pacific moisture across West Texas. This will continue the chance for scattered showers and storms through the day. Better coverage and intensity will be later this afternoon and evening with heavy down pours possible. This might lead to areas of flooding for the evening commute home. Temperatures will be nice in the mid to upper 80s with the mostly cloudy sky.
TONIGHT: There will likely be on and off overnight showers with a few rumbles of thunder. Mostly cloudy with the low near 67.
TUESDAY: Another good chance for scattered storms through the day with more heavy rain possible. Highs likely to drop a few additional degrees in the lower to mid 80s, a few upper 70s possible too.
Extended: Periods of showers and storms through the week with upper level systems lifting the pacific moisture. Again, it won't rain constantly with periods of just clouds. Highs will continue to stay nice with lows dropping to the lower to mid 60s. So pretty much the opposite of last week. After the front passes through it looks to dry out for the weekend.
Have a great Monday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
