Texas Country Music stars remember Kylie Rae Harris

Texas country singer Kylie Rae Harris, 30, died in a car crash in New Mexico Wednesday night. She leaves behind a six-year-old daughter. The well-respected artist was set to perform in Lubbock later this month as part of JABFest.

Harris' final tweet was about driving through New Mexico: "Fuel range is 46 miles and I’m 36 from the nearest gas station Dear baby Jesus please don’t let me get stranded in NM." Her final Instagram story recalled time with her late father on the road where she died.

Harris released her self-titled album this year. Her sudden passing has hit the Texas Country Music scene hard with a number of artists posting their remembrances of working with her.

Josh Abbott: "A cloud hangs over our entire Texas Country genre... As a songwriter, you hope your words live forever. Yours will, Kylie."

Wade Bowen: "You always answered my call. Every time. Whether it was to share the stage, open a show, sing for my charity event, or just simply grab a drink and hang. She answered every time and was always there and ready to be her best. And she was always that."

Pat Green: The music world lost a beautiful, kind, and incredibly talented woman last night... rest in peace, Kylie Rae Harris.

Bri Bagwell: "The angels are getting the best harmonies in heaven right now, no doubt. Miss you already, you insanely beautiful/talented gem."

Rich O'Toole: "The mornings we spent laughing in the kitchen drinking coffee. Hearing your new songs in the studio. Knowing what bright future you had. Makes this so hard. I would have taken your place. The world and country music needed you. I never told you but you gave me hope."

Radney Foster:  "Soul and joy ached out of her voice every time she sang. She was full of life and love. Mostly I thought of her as my friend. I loved her. The world is a little more diminished. Heaven’s choir much stronger."

Flatland Cavalry: Your angelic voice will be put to good use in Heaven’s choir. Rest easy, you sweet, lovely, songbird and watch out for us Travelin’ kind from above... We all miss ya so bad @KylieRH.

Billy Bob's Texas: "We had the honor of hosting Kylie Rae Harris on numerous occasions. She was a regular staple at Pickin' For Preemies and a true talent. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her daughter Corbie, family, and friends."
