Sunny and hot into the weekend, heavy rain along the southeast coast

LUBBOCK, Texas -

More sunshine with temperatures quickly warming this afternoon. High nearing 92 with a light southeast wind 5-10mph.

TONIGHT: Clear sky with lows dropping to the 60s again.

THROUGH THE WEEKEND: No changes in the forecast with lots up sunshine and heat across West Texas with highs climbing a few more degrees.

NEXT WEEK: The ridge of high pressure bringing these hot and sunny conditions will flatten out. This will allow some upper level storms system to move in our region to bring a glimpse of change. Not as hot temperatures with a slight chance for rain into next week.

Hurricane Dorian: Still of the east coast of Florida with maximum wind speeds around 100mph. This system has picked up in speed moving north-northwest at 8 mph. As it continues to push north with will dump heavy rainfall along the coast lines of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Here is the latest track from the National Hurricane Center:
