Lubbock Electric celebrates 75th anniversary

LUBBOCK, Texas -

 Lubbock Electric Co. celebrated its 75th anniversary Friday. 

Employees past and present, customers and the city commemorated its service to the Lubbock area.

"It's great. It's wonderful seeing it, and I know that it is going to last longer," James Norton, head of hydraulic manufacture, said. "The Industry has changed a lot, but being able to stay for that 75 years, hanging in there and doing what they are doing, is great."

Chamber of Commerce President Eddie McBride said it is proud of LECO's community service.

Mayor Dan Pope read a city proclamation in honor of the anniversary. He said it is thankful for the 90 jobs the company supports, and its long-term investment in Lubbock.
