LUBBOCK, Texas -

Some members of H-E-B senior leadership will be in Lubbock Wednesday to announce a donation of a trailer of cereal to the South Plains Food Bank. This is according to public affairs for the grocery chain and the Food Bank.

H-E-B's website shows last year its customers across the state raised money for 3 million meals donated to 20 food banks. Wednesday's donation is one of many made or to be made across Texas for Hunger Awareness Month, which is September.

H-E-B is headquartered in San Antonio with more than 350 grocery stores across Texas and Mexico. According to a news release, the H-E-B Food Assistance Program works year-round to raise awareness and battle hunger in Texas and Mexico. Last year H-E-B donated more than 32 million pounds of food to food banks, providing for about 25 million meals.
