It's been another hot day, but at least most locations in our area have stayed below 100. Keep in mind the average high for Lubbock this time of year is 91, so avoiding 100 isn't exactly cool.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low near 70. Wind S/SW 5-12mph.
TOMORROW: Partly cloudy, high near 94. With a weak front moving in from the north, it looks like a few storms will develop by mid-afternoon. Coverage won't be great, so many spots will miss out. But this actually looks more favorable for multiple locations to get rain than we've seen over the past few weeks. Storms should diminish late tomorrow.
FRIDAY: Slight chance for a few more storms late in the day, high near 95.
LOOKING AHEAD: High pressure will re-center across our region, leading to hotter afternoons. At this point Monday looks the hottest, near 104. But after that, longer-range guidance is still pointing to the temperature dropping off a bit late next week. We'll keep an eye on this trend.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have the updated forecast posted here and on Good Day Lubbock tomorrow morning.
