Likely to have a new record high Sunday, isolated storms possible

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Another very hot day with isolated storms popping up. These will have the potential to bring some high wind gusts and lightning. This risk has left our eastern counties under a Red Flag Warning as some fires could spread quickly from lightning. Current radar below:

TONIGHT: Chance for storms will diminish before midnight with a partly cloud sky. Low near 74 with a light breeze from the south/southwest.

SUNDAY: Oh boy another very hot day with the high near 104, previous record is 103 degrees. With this heat again some isolated storms likely to pop up during the late afternoon and evening hours.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures stay above average but so drop to the mid and upper 90s. Again some isolated storms may be possible but no good wide spread chance (like we need).

Have a great evening! Join us tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have your Sunday night forecast.
