Is your student excited to get into the next level of reading and you don’t know what to do with their used books? Consider donating them to Christ the King School. Their Class of 2020 who is currently collecting gently used books for their book sale in the future. Drop books off in front of office.

Also if you plan to attend any events at the Plains Capital Park football field, please note that the Lubbock Independent School District will implement a clear bag policy.

Catholic Charities hosting a FREE Parent Workshop on “Bullying, Social Media & Mental Health” at Madison Park Apartments Community Center 512 N. Martin L. King Blvd. Pre-register by calling Dayne/Danna at 806-765-8475

Aug 17th 
The City of Lubbock Keep Lubbock Beautiful, and Solid Waste Department will be assisting the Bayless Atkins neighborhood association for this event.

Roll-offs will be present for public use, and volunteers will be encouraged to help pickup debris around the area. 5201 University Ave. from 8am – 12pm

Lubbock Area United Way 2019 Annual Campaign Kickoff at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall featuring a conversation with Anna Babin CEO of United Way of Greater Houston. Stars & Stripes Drive in Theater invites you to come celebrate their 16th annual anniversary with their $16 carload night held on Thursday August 15th. Each participating guest must have a seat-belt. No RV's, motor homes, or buses.

Aug 17th 
7th Annual David Montalvo Scholarship Jam will take place at the Depot Patio located at 608 18th St. from 2:00pm – 1:00am. Cost is $7.00 BYOB, kid-friendly, indoors and food available for purchase. All proceeds to towards the David Montalvo Memorial Scholarship to support students through Communities in Schools of the South Plains.

Landmark After Dark Night Hike begins at 8pm at the Lubbock Lake Landmark.

Aug 31st 
Catholic Charities invites you to the Not So Silent Night on August 31st at the Knight of Columbus Hall located at 1619 Erskine St.for a dance and donation drive to help families in our area. Admission: women – new toy for child or teen, men – five items of non-perishable food. Food items will go to the food pantry and toys for Giving Tree in December. DJ is Jammin Jr. Lucero. BYOB.
