Chance for storms next few days, not as hot

We finally got a slight break from the heat today, albeit not a cold day. After 103 yesterday it's been in the low to mid 90s around Lubbock and most of the South Plains. Triple digits have been widespread from the southern South Plains to much of the rest of the state. That's thanks to a front that moved through early this morning.

There are some storms well northwest of our area this afternoon. These will move southeasterly and may make it here by tomorrow morning. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 68. Wind NE 5-12mph. Slight chance for a shower or storm.

TOMORROW: High near 92, partly cloudy, chance for a shower or storm. Wind NE/E 10-18mph. Some of the latest guidance actually shows showers and storms in the that is a possibility for the kids headed back to school, during morning commute.

Some more showers and storms are possible in the afternoon and evening, though not a great chance.

NEXT FEW DAYS: There still could be a few storms Thursday night and Friday night, though the chance will be dropping. It is going to get hotter next few days as well.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have the updated forecast here early tomorrow morning.
