Cold front pushed through the area this morning bringing the northeasterly wind and cooler temperatures.
TODAY: It's still going to be a hot one, but not as hot as yesterdays 103° in Lubbock. High near 94, might have a couple 100s to our southeastern counties. Mostly sunny with the light breeze from the northeast continuing 10-18mph.
TONIGHT: Low near 68 with cloud cover increasing from the north. Some showers even some rumbles of thunder might make it into our area pushing out of New Mexico and the northern Panhandle.
REST OF WEEK: The ridge of high pressure pushes west bringing us the northwestern flow aloft. This will help to keep temperatures near or a little above average and a chance for rain moving in from the west and north. Timing for this rain will likely be later in the evening and overnight.
EXTENDED: Models are agreeing more this morning for the weekend and trending hotter with lower chances for rain.
Have a great Tuesday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
