A few isolated storms possible, several 100 degrees days ahead

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Yesterday some isolated storms developed and brought some relief in the heat and nice rain to a few areas. Here are some of the Tech Mesonet rainfall totals:

Muleshoe: 0.79"
Spur 0.52
Friona 0.08"
Plainview 0.06"
Morton 0.05"

This morning a few isolated showers and storms have developed and are slowly moving east. Current Radar:

TODAY: This activity will be clearing out through the morning, then mostly sunny and hot. High near 100 and with these temperatures some isolated storms can't be ruled out.

TONIGHT: Low near 76, partly cloudy and a few isolated showers possible.

EXTENDED: A slim chance for isolated activity continues Friday before things dry our and we have more sunshine. The ridge of high pressure leaves us with highs in the upper 90s low 100s into next week. Models do bring a possible change with not as hot temperatures by mid next week.

Have a great Thursday! Matt with the latest updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
