LUBBOCK, Texas -

Experts from across the state stopped in Lubbock Wednesday to talk about what Texas lawmakers accomplished during the legislative session. Specifically, what it means for taxpayers.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation emphasizes that despite differences of opinions in policy, Texans can sit down and build a healthy, civil society.

"Because Texans realize that what's at stake is not just a property tax bill, not just sort of a state of their business, but Texas itself. What you and I know and love about Texas regardless of what are ethnic backgrounds are, we want it to be the same in 2021 and 2051," Kevin Roberts, Executive Director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. said. "That's what our foundation does and we think that's what the legislature needs to be focused on, next session and the session after that."

The foundation will continue its tour tomorrow in El Paso. Roberts said it will be a challenge, but looks forward to being there supporting the community.
