UPDATED: Police responding to shots fired at liquor store in central Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Update from the Lubbock Police Department: 

Police report the suspect entered the store and selected a bottle of liquor and ran out of the store.

The employee ran after the suspect armed with a handgun, according to police. As the employee chased the suspect into the alley, the employee fired several rounds into the dirt in an attempt to get the suspect to stop. 

The suspect did not stop and got away. No one was injured. 

Suspect is a black or Hispanic male wearing a blue hoody and gray pants.


Just after 2 p.m., Lubbock police responded to shots fired during a robbery at the River's Spirit Liquor Store near 35th and Slide road. 

No reports of injuries at this time.
