Slightly hotter next few days - FOX34 Lubbock

Slightly hotter next few days

It's another hot afternoon, with just a few isolated showers or weak storms to the south of Lubbock. Our region is under a ridge of high pressure aloft. That means hot days and not much of a chance for any rain.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low near 70.

TOMORROW: Mainly sunny and hot, high near 97. Wind S/SW 5-12mph.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The upper ridge should edge closer to our area, leading to afternoons near 100 Thursday and Friday. A slight break from the heat is expected Sunday, but that's only knocking the high down to around average.

We do see a slim chance for storms to make it in from New Mexico this weekend and early next week. We have a low chance for nighttime storms Saturday through Monday.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
