July ending and August starting hot

LUBBOCK, Texas -

TODAY: Hot and sunny! High near 96 with a light wind changing southeasterly. A pop up shower or storm can't be ruled out for our southern counties.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with milder lows in the upper 60s and low 70s.

REST OF THE WEEK: No changes for our area with high temperatures staying in the upper 90s low 100s. Some clouds mixed with sunshine with low chances for any precipitation.

WEEKEND: Things do look to change with a slim chance for rain starting later Saturday and into Sunday. A lot could change by then so I added more cloud cover with temperatures cooling to near average.

Have a great Tuesday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
-Bobby
