LIFE/RUN Center celebrates 29th anniversary of ADA

Posted:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Friday marks 29 years of equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities.

To commemorate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, signed into law by George H.W. Bush in 1990, the LIFE/RUN Center for Independent Living put on its annual celebration of the law's signing at the CenterPointe Event Center. Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of food and fun with friends and family.

The non-profit helps individuals with disabilities in Lubbock achieve and maintain independence.

"There is not nothing that we don't help with," Victor Coronado, with LIFE/RUN Center, said. "If we don't have the program or the ability to help with it, we will find someone to help them."

The Center helps with skills such as job readiness and independent living. All the money raised from ticket sales for the event go to support those programs. For more information on LIFE/RUN Center and the services it provides, click here.
