Civic Lubbock, Inc. announces lineup of music artists for Lubbock Music Now 2019

(Lubbock, Texas)- Civic Lubbock, Inc. just announced the lineup of artists for the 2019 Lubbock Music NOW album which features local artists who provide the soundtrack for the city of Lubbock.  It’s a compilation album of original music by current local musicians.  This will be the fourth album since the project began in 2016.

Lubbock Music NOW 2019 ALBUM

In April, Civic Lubbock, Inc. put out a call for local artists to submit studio-produced original songs for consideration for our annual album of local music. The submissions were once again judged by past and current members of the Texas Branch of The Recording Academy (Texas Grammy Board). The judges were only given song numbers – no artist names or song titles.

This year, 18 songs were selected for the Lubbock Music NOW 2019. This year’s winners, listed alphabetically with song titles, are:

Alejandro (Muchismo) Sanchez – “La Cancion de las Sirenas”
Alicia Morgan – “Parts”
Alma Quartet – “Open Your Heart”
Austin McManus – “Good Intentions”
Bo Garza – “As Close to Heaven”
Booga Bradshaw – “Greatest of My Time”
Caleb Green – “Waiting on You”
David Morgan & BadFelon – “PPL”
Derek Bohl – “Disease”
Downtown City Radio – “LAX”
Dustin Garrett – “I Cry”
Hannah Jackson – “Story of Us”
Janette B – “Here You Go”
Jerry Serrano – “Vintage Wine”
Jim Dixon – “Back to Blue”
Kenna Danielle – “Black & Blue”
Madelyn Mandry – “Shadows”
Phantom Wilds – “Wildfire”
Spur 327 Band – “One for the Road"

The artists on the album will be paid a one-time cash prize of $200 by Civic Lubbock. In addition, the artists will receive 10 free copies of the album.  Artists will also get to be included in an elite group of local talent representing the Lubbock music scene.

The release of the album is planned for the fall of 2019 in conjunction with a CD Release Party.  Details on the Release Party and where the album will be available will be forthcoming.  “Lubbock Music NOW” will post regular updates and song samples on its Facebook page.

All proceeds from sales of the album will go to Civic Lubbock, Inc. to be invested in local music projects including future years of Lubbock Music NOW.

Civic Lubbock's mission is to foster and promote educational, cultural and entertainment programs, to include the visual and performing arts, for the citizens of Lubbock and the surrounding area.
