LUBBOCK, Texas -

Billy Rizzo announced Lubbock staple Stella's Restaurant will be moving to a new location. On Wednesday Parma Italian Restaurant will move into the current location at 50th and Utica, according to a news release.

Parma is owned by executive chef Pierre Gabelli and chef Eric Cowan.

“While it was not an easy decision to leave this location, we feel like a new location will allow us to offer some amenities that we have been wanting to add” Stella's owner Rizzo said in the news release. “This will give us time to work on the new restaurant. Rest assured, Stella’s will return and looks forward to serving our loyal customers and friends.”

The new location will be announced soon. Stella's will continue to cater meals. Rizzo also operates Stacked Breakfast and Lunch at 82nd and Iola.

According to the new release, "the original Stella's was founded in Suffern, New York, in 1973 by Stella Rizzo. She perfected the art of authentic New York Italian cuisine. In 1998, Billy Rizzo brought the "family business" to Lubbock. Stella's has grown into one of Lubbock's most popular upscale Italian restaurants. Stella's offers authentic New York Italian cuisine made fresh from family recipes."
