Burglary suspect attempts to escape LSO patrol unit

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A burglary suspect arrested by Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to escape from a patrol car Monday morning. 

Deputies responded to the area of 114th Street and Frankford Ave. to reports of a burglary in progress and arrested Micha Bruton, 30.

Deputies report they notified the Communications Center that Bruton was trying to break out the windows to the patrol car. The deputy pulled over in the 3400 block of I-27, according to LSO. 

Deputies report during the attempted escape, Bruton was tased to prevent him from running into traffic and getting away. Bruton was taken to UMC so that the taser probes could be removed. 

Bruton is in custody and has been placed under arrest for attempted burglary of a building, attempted theft, resisting arrest and escape.
