School Supply Drive

United Family begins School Supply Drive supporting local students

Posted:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Starting today, the United Family is partnering with Lubbock-area school districts to host a school supply drive.

Anyone can help by buying school supplies and dropping them off in the barrels at the entrance of any United Supermarkets, Market Street or Amigos locations in Lubbock or Slaton.

Cash donations are also accepted at checkout to help make sure local students have all the supplies they need to be successful in school.

"With as many disadvantaged families that we have in our area it puts a lot of them on a strain," United Family CEO Robert Taylor said. "And what that relates to is students sometimes not starting school with everything they need. And it's just like they don't get an equal fair start with the other students. So we don't want any students starting from behind."

School districts benefiting from the drive include Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Cooper, Frenship, Roosevelt and Slaton.

Each school receiving donations will directly donate them to families in need. The drive will go through July 28th.
