UPDATED: Man arrested in carjacking, victim remains in critical condition

updated 9:05 p.m. - Lubbock Police have arrested a man who is accused of a car-jacking early Tuesday morning near 50th Street and University.

26-year-old Paublo Reyes is charged with aggravated robbery. Investigators say he is one of two men who jumped into Michael McCoy's pick-up and forced him to drive to an ATM a few blocks away. When McCoy jumped out to run, police say one of the men shot him.

As of Tuesday evening, McCoy is in the hospital in critical condition.

At around 11 Tuesday morning, Lubbock County Sheriff's deputies found the victim's pick-up near 124th Street and University. By late Tuesday afternoon, Reyes was found in the 1300 block of 38th Street. He was brought in for questioning, then arrested.

Reyes is in the Lubbock County Detention Center, held on a $250,000 bond.
