THIS AFTERNOON: It's hot. But not as hot as yesterday, with low to mid 90s across our area. Storms have developed in Central New Mexico, slowly spreading east. Most of these should diminish near the state line, but there is a slight chance for storms tonight, generally west of Lubbock.
TONIGHT: Low near 68, partly cloudy. Wind S/SW 5-10mph.
TOMORROW: Not as hot, partly cloudy with a slight chance for storms late. High near 91. Wind S 10-15mph.
SIMILAR PATTERN: There won't be any big swings in the temperature any time soon. Low 90s are expected each afternoon, upper 60s to 70 each morning. And a few storms are possible each evening into late at night. A few storms could even develop in the afternoon, since we have enough humidity in place.
But the chance for storms on any single day isn't great. I wouldn't be worried about moving any Fourth of July celebrations. Just be prepared to move in if a storm does develop. Keep in mind even if it does rain or storm, it won't last long.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
