It was hot yesterday with the high in Lubbock at 100°.
TODAY: Not as hot with the high near 93. Sunshine will continue though with a light south/southeast wind 5-15mph.
TONIGHT: Our focus will shift west in New Mexico this evening for the possibility for rain to move in our area. Some locations especially near the TX/NM border will have the better chance for some isolated showers and storms. For the rest of us that stay dry, more cloud cover expected with the low near 68.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny with isolated showers and storms possible during the afternoon. Then again some activity moving from New Mexico might make it into the area later in the evening. Highs will cool just a little more as more cloud cover is expected, high near 90.
EXTENDED: Through the rest of the week temperatures will stay near the seasonal average. Isolated nightly storms can't be ruled out, again most of us will stay dry. This does look to change by the weekend with some models bringing a better chance for widespread rainfall. We will keep you informed on this as not all long range models are in agreement.
Matt will have the latest updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine. Have a great Monday!
