One person dead after motorcycle crash Saturday morning - FOX34 Lubbock

UPDATED: LPD investigating fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash

LUBBOCK, Texas -


On Saturday, just before 1:00 a.m., Lubbock police officers responded to a crash on 19th Street and Ave. S.

Officers found 24-year-old Robert Macias Jr. with life threatening injures. He was taken to the hospital by EMS where he later died. 

Investigators were able to determine the motorcycle rear ended a pickup. The driver of the pickup failed to stop and render aid and was gone before officers arrived. 

Investigators located the involved truck Tuesday morning near 28th street and Ave. W, according to police. 

Police report investigators have identified and made contact with the owner of the truck, but the case remains under investigation.
