A man has died a couple days after his car plunged off a bridge on East Loop 289. Investigators say it looks like Raymond Phelps, 31, was driving northbound Saturday morning, when he veered into the median, crashed through the guard rail and fell between the overpasses.

Phelps' vehicle caught fire. Lubbock Fire Rescue crews pulled him out of the vehicle and put the flames out. 

Police told us Phelps died at the hospital Monday evening.
