You can catch some pro bowlers in Lubbock this weekend.

The PBA Lubbock Sports Shootout will be at South Plains Lanes from Friday, June 28 through Sunday, June 30, the first stop of its summer tour.

It is an international event with 90 players from seven countries, including from Texas and eight from Lubbock. The headliner is Jason Belmonte from Australia, the PBA World Champion.

"We tend to create a new champion it seems like a lot here -- first time champions -- in Lubbock," Jimbo Evans, managing partner of South Plains Lanes, said. "The players love Lubbock, and that's the main thing: they love comin' here."

There is $20,000 at stake for the top five, and it will be free to watch. The first frame is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
