This afternoon it's reached the lower 90s around the South Plains with it a few degrees hotter to the north in the Panhandle. There are some storms in New Mexico, slowly moving east. These could approach the northwestern South Plains later tonight, before diminishing late.
TONIGHT: Low near 68, mostly clear. Wind S/SW 5-15mph.
TOMORROW: Sunny and hot, high 93. Wind SW/S 10-15mph.
EXTENDED FORECAST: There won't be much changing from one day to the next. It'll probably be a degree or two hotter this weekend. With high pressure aloft across our region, the storm chance will stay low. It's not zero, an isolated storm is possible late each day. But you should mainly expect just sunny, hot days through the weekend into early next week.
The upper ridge will weaken and move away by the middle of next week, bringing a slight chance for storms across the area then.
Have a great rest of the day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
