Seasonal average highs with lower chances for storms

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Had some showers and storms move through parts of our area last night. Most of us stayed dry but Lubbock Airport picked up 0.09" of rainfall.

TODAY: Mostly sunny with highs in the lower to mid 90s. South/southeast wind will stay a light breeze 10-18mph. Later in the afternoon and evening hours some showers and storms will develop in New Mexico, these might push into our northwestern counties. Not expecting much in coverage as the storms chances quickly diminishes after sunset.

TONIGHT: Low near 67, some cloud cover expected from the showers and storms but staying dry.

EXTENDED: A ridge of high pressure continues to build across the area. This will keep our temperatures near average and low chances for any precipitation. Pretty quiet weather through the weekend with possible storms by mid next week.

Have a great Wednesday! Matt in with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
