City Council invite Lubbock residents to tour South Water Treatment Plant

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The City of Lubbock welcomed citizens to tour the south Water Treatment Plant Tuesday.

It's part of City Council's plan to showcase critical facilities. Aubrey Spear, Director of Water Utilities, said it teaches residents how the plant works, and more importantly, affects their lives.

"We have water and we have strategies to supply water for our citizens for decades to come so we want our citizens to know that we're taking care of business now so that into the future they don't have to worry about where their water is coming from," he said.

City Council hopes to continue holding meetings at different facilities around town. You can still tour the water treatment plant at any time. We'll have updates on when and where the next one will be.
