19-year-old charged with aggravated domestic assault

Javance Johnson, Jr. has been charged with aggravated domestic assault of his ex-girlfriend.

On February 11, 2019, Johnson appeared at the victim's house with her sister and her boyfriend at the time. It was to her surprise when her sister asked for help getting her belongings out of the backseat, that he was there.

After the incident, the victim explained to the officer on-scene she and Johnson had broken up three months prior and she avoided him because of his aggressiveness towards her after the breakup.

When the victim started grabbing items from the backseat, Johnson began arguing with and calling her names. As she started to get out of the car, he attacked her. When her sister tried to intervene, her boyfriend prevented her from doing so by choking her, so that Johnson could finish his attack.

Johnson used a claw hammer, his feet, and his fists to beat the victim. He then pushed her out of the car and continued to attack her. The victim was able to get away from Johnson and run inside of her home to call the police.

Upon the arrival of an officer, the victim was found with swelling and bruising on her forehead and right eye as well as scratches on her throat from being choked by Johnson.

She later went to Covenant and found she had suffered a concussion.

This was Johnson's third time assaulting the victim. He is now set with a $30,000 bond.
