Texas Legacy Riders honor Lubbock area veterans during Lonestar Legacy Run

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Texas Legacy Riders laid a wreath at the Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial as a dedication to sacrifice.

It's part of the 2019 Lonestar Legacy Run. The War Memorial was created in 2003 to honor current and retired soldiers.

The riders have come to Lubbock to raise scholarship money for the National American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund. It benefits children of military personnel who have been killed in action since 9/11.

"Unfortunately, the government doesn't fully fund everything, with the cost of college and all that and this give them the opportunity to get whatever they need to get their college funded for their future," Reno Riley, State Secretary of the State of Texas Riders, said.

The Texas Riders last stop and rally will be Friday, June 21, in Waco.
