Texas Tech eliminates FSU from CWS with 4-1 win

OMAHA, Neb. -

 

The Red Raiders faced elimination in the College World Series for their second game in a row. 

Cameron Warren helped Texas Tech get on the board in the second inning when he hit a single into left field. The RBI allowed Dylan Neuse to use his speed and put the first run on the board.

In the fourth inning, Braxton Fulford had an error on a throw to second to try and pick off the base runner which allowed the Seminoles to tied it up.

After a scoreless inning, Brian Klein walked up to the plate in the sixth and ripped his first pitch out of the ballpark, for the go-ahead run to put Texas Tech up 2-1.

With runners on corners in the 8th, Josh Jung hit an RBI single into right field to double Tech's lead, 3-1. Then Cam Warren single, loaded up the bases for Cody Masters, with no outs. However, Florida State would dig a deeper hole as Velez walked Kurt Wilson with bases loaded and Tech went up 4-1.

Mike Martin, the winningest coach in all Division I sports career ends in Omaha after Texas Tech eliminated the Seminoles with a 4-1 win.

Right-handed pitcher, Bryce Bonnin pitched five innings allowing one unearned run on two hits. He struck out seven during his time on the mound.

For the first time in Texas Tech history, it won two games in Omaha.

Texas Tech will face Michigan, Friday at noon. It will have to beat the Wolverines in order to stay alive.
