Rainfall totals from last nights storms, triple digits by Thursday

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Another round of severe storms moved across the area last night. This has cleared our area and its a sunny sky this morning. Here are some of the rainfall totals from the Tech Mesonet:
White River Lake 0.81"
Paducah 0.56"
Lubbock Airport 0.55"
Lake Alan Henry 0.51"
Spur 0.49"
Fluvanna 0.47"
Tahoka 0.43"
Earth 0.43"
Snyder 0.37"
Slaton 0.37"
Colorado City 0.35"
Muleshoe 0.30" Putting them at 2.41" over the last 48 hours
Near Tech 0.27"

TODAY: A cold front is slowly moving through the area, but will have little effect on our temperatures. High near 95, mostly sunny with a light north/northwest wind 5-15. An isolated shower or storm can't be ruled out, but most of us will stay dry.

REST OF THE WEEK: Highs continue to climb nearing triple digits area wide. Friday is the first day the Summer Solstice and one of the longest with the sunrise at 6:38a, sunset 9:01p. A storm system will bring stronger wind by Friday through the weekend. Moisture likely to return for parts of the area, allowing a slim chance for storms to develop Friday and Saturday.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will cool off returning to near the average by next week. We may see some more storms into next week as well. For now just added more cloud cover until models become more in agreement.

Have a great Wednesday and Wreck Em Tech! Matt will have the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
