Texas Tech falls to Michigan in CWS, will face Arkansas Monday

OMAHA, Neb. -

In the opening game of the College World Series Michigan defeated Texas Tech 5-3.

Freshman pitcher Micah Dallas started for the Red Raiders. In the first inning, a sac fly from Jordan Brewer brought in Jordan Nwogu for the Wolverines to get out to a 1-0 lead.

Dallas struggled in the third inning as Kerr tripled down the right field line with runners on second and third for 2 run RBI. That would be followed by Nelson who singled to left to bring in Kerr and extend Michigan's lead to 4-0.

Brian Klein had an answer in the bottom of the inning when he hit a two run homer out of right center field to make it a 4-2 game.

Micah Dallas pitched three innings allowing four runs on six hits and striking out three. 

In the 6th, a single from Jung, followed by a double from Warren set up Dru Baker who grounded out to second, but Jung scored to make it a one-run game.

However, with runners on second and third for the blue and gold, a throwing error allowed the Wolverines to run home and go up 5-3.

Michigan would win 5-3.

(8)Texas Tech will face (5)Arkansas 1 p.m. Monday. Florida State beat the Razorbacks 1-0 Saturday evening, scoring the only run on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.
