Lubbock Congressman Jodey Arrington unloaded on Democrats over the "Medicare For All" proposal. It would try to cover every American with one government health insurance plan.
The House Ways and Means Committee held its second hearing on the proposal this week.
Congressman Arrington says it's a socialist, single-payer government take-over of the health care system. He says this kind of thinking is what led to the crisis at the Veterans Affairs administration.
"The only way to fix that was not to throw more money at it," Arrington said. "It was a bipartisan effort to give them a ticket out of that government monopoly, and that bureaucracy that was not serving them. And they got paid whether they served them or not.
"I just worry that we're trying to, in one fell swoop, push every American into that same model, and it would be an epic failure."
Citing a study from George Mason University, Congressman Arrington's office reports "Medicare For All" would cost taxpayers $32 trillion over the next 10 years. Even doubling all of our taxes would not raise enough money to pay for it.

We dropped to 32° degrees this morning, but with a few clouds, we will probably remain in the upper 30s. Sunday brings warm temperatures again with a few more clouds in the evening thanks to a cold front. Once that cold front passes, then temperatures
