Investigators said they believe 30-year-old Chance Copeland shot and killed 37-year-old Cassie Oden early Monday morning.
The SWAT team arrested him late last night and charged him with her death.
Copeland has court cases and accusations going back a decade.
Since 2007, police have accused Copeland of multiple drug and weapon charges, as well as domestic violence.
A few of those cases have been dismissed for lack of evidence, however.
Copeland is also the main suspect in an aggravated kidnapping case from February of last year.
He is accused of abducting and striking a man with a knife and lamp. That case is set to go trial this August.
This leads up to his accused involvement in the murder of Cassie Oden, as police found her body in a car near East 2nd and Zenith, where she died shortly after.
24-year-old Preston Beadman was also wounded in that attack.
Copeland is back in jail with a $750,000 bond.
