East Lubbock shooting kills woman, injures man

LUBBOCK, Texas -

 

 

The Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is searching for the person or people responsible for a shooting that killed a woman and injured a man late Sunday night.

Officers were called to East Second Street near Zenith Avenue. They found Cassie Oden, 37, shot. Despite medical treatment from police and EMS, she died a short time later.

Investigators believe there was a shooting near MLK Blvd. and Parkway Drive. Someone fired multiple shots at a vehicle in which Oden and three others were riding. The victims drove to East Second Street to call for help.

Preston Beadman, 24, was also hit. He's being treated at the hospital for moderate injuries.
