Some storms tonight as we head back into an active pattern

A few isolated storms are possible late this evening and overnight. This is the beginning of another active pattern of showers and thunderstorms. The good news is that while I say "active," that it's not going to be as active with regard to severe weather. There is a risk of a few strong storms to the southwest of Lubbock, generally in southeastern New Mexico, but the overall chance for a strong storm is much lower than what we dealt with last week. We're also a bit warmer this weekend, and it will stay that way into next week.

TONIGHT: Low of 63°, isolated thunderstorms, SSE wind 5-10.

SATURDAY: High of 84°, scattered showers and thunderstorms, S wind 5-15mph.

Next week, expect the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms every day, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
